This clip shares the opening remarks for ‘SciOut18’, given by Rockefeller University president, Rick Lifton and RockEDU director, Jeanne Garbarino. Rick discusses the alignment between RockEDU and Rockefeller University in promoting public engagement with science, and prioritizing science education at all all levels. Jeanne introduces the format for SciOut18, and sets expectations for norms, goals and future directions. Videos are shared that demonstrate what “science outreach” means from the perspective of diverse practitioners.
